This is all a real puzzle to me. I can't answer your question. I really don't know. I feel so stupid, because I want so much to help you.
Is there anything else going on that may give me more of a clue.
I'll be waiting to hear more. As much as you can tell me.
Thanks,
Heather
Rose, it sounds as if you're getting some spasticity in your leg and hand. If the muscle is tightening or cramping, your hand and foot will turn to follow the muscle. I get this in my left thumb - it always wants to go to the palm.
Rose, have you been diagnosed with MS? the foot problem you describe is how my spascisity started in my feet, i now have bilateral spastic foot drop, my hands hurt and cramp alot with some muscle wasting, get the doc to refer you to a podiatrist to assess your lower limbs for muscle wasting, I left it too long and wear orthotics now for foot , ankle and knee. these things can be sorted when caught soon enough. also do you have flat feet ,or high arch? hope this helps, sorry you are suffering so much :(
Hi, I agree that what you seem to be having could be from spasticity pulling your foot in or rotating your wrist around. Especially it seems likely for the writst.
But, the other possibility is that the opposite muscle has suddenly become weak and no longer can "oopose the muscle" on the other side. you might have become weak in the muscles that help pull the foot to the outside.
Just a thought. You need to report these to your neuro who may want to confirm it with an exam or declare a relapse (new sym[toms) and possibly give steroids.
I notified my neuro of my worsened R side weakness and loss of coordination of my R hand by a letter via fax. The advantage to this method is that you can describe the problem in detail and not have it get lost in translation by a phone message. He wants to start steroids if the problems "persist." He left the definition of persist up to me. Tomorrow it will be four weeks since the beginning of the relapse, which improved within about 2 weeks, was okay for about a week, then last Monday suddenly worsened again. I think tomorrow I'll yell, "Persistence!"
