cervical myelopthy

i am 45 years old and have had neck pain for 15 years. in 2012 i hD 2 LEVEL acdf surgery c4/5 and c5/6  my pain at this point is unbearable.  in 2005 my mri  said large right unicrate process spur at c4/5 causing significant right foraminal encrocjment and spondulotic impingement of the c5 root. they tried different injections and nothing worked. i then lost my insurance. by 2010 i was having alot of pain and had insurance again so the mri then saiddegenrative signal alteration is present in the odontoid process. broad base disc protrusion flattens the thecoal sac, c5/6 broad base protrusssion and associated endplate hypertrophy compresses thecoa; sac and compromises  the right neural foramen.. signal alteration at c4 has resolved itself c5/6  is the same as the c 4/5 but not compressing the cord just the sac. the neurosurgeon said the signal al;teration was probably artifactual however he forgot and didnt remember the 2010 signling problem so it couldnt be artifactual. anyways my current mri basically saysdisc bulge and spondylosis cord compression at c3/4 forminal compromise c3/4 right forminal compromise c4/5 and interbody fusion c4/5 and c5/6 and the was a degenrative signal alteration at the anterior/inferior corner of c/3.     can anyone help me. my surgeon wants to see me back in 6 months, my pcp wont give me any opiod pain meds and my neurologist says i slipped thru the sysyem i have mylomacia//  and should of been tested 10 yrs ago for ms.   i want to mention i had emg which states caroel tunnel and permant c/5 nerve damage. someone pls help

Hi Kluger - Welcome to our group.

Our area of "expertise" is MS, and none of us are doctors (with one very notable exception!). Other than the pain, are you having any other symptoms, like balance issues, extreme fatigue or muscle weakness? There is very often pain assoicated with MS, but it is not typically the only sysmptom.  MS pain is caused by bad signals in the central nervous system, but the reason for the bad signals is not easily identified on an MRI.

From what you have described it sounds like there are mechanical explanations for your discomfort. What makes your Neuro think it's MS?
