MORE phantom (?) itching

Okay, so I'm living through the Copaxone injection site itching. It's no picnic but I'm hopeful it will lessen soon.

Last night the heels of both hands were INTENSELY itchy. There were no hives or rash, nothing to expain it really. I ended up having to take a Benadryl and sleep with one of my ice packs between my wrists.

It's still there today. It's like a itch that can't be satisfied because when I do scratch it, it burns. I've never had anything like this before though so I'm thinking it's related to the MS. I've been reading the health pages and I was thinking it was maybe a form of paresthesia since there appears to be no real cause for it. Both hands and fingers are feeling creepy-crawly / buzzy too.

I called my neuro (you might remember Quix suggesintg that the nurse there needs to be hung by here t*ts for saying MS doesn't cause pain) and they said it's not neurological. They said to go to my PCP. I'm just frustrated because my insurance covers 2 office visits per year and any more are out-of-pocket. I have a feeling my PCP will tell me to go to the neuro because they can't find anything wrong and bam! I've used both visits up and it's only January.

WOW!  You have a chronic degenerative disease and only have two covered visits a year to all physicians?  I'll stop complaining about my recent insurance difficulties now.

I don't know about the origin of the itching.  You may be doing the best treatment possible whatever the cause since there's no spread or additional symptoms today.  If it keeps up and drives you nuts you'll need to save a visit for the psychiatrist!  (I really do apologize.  Just couldn't resist.)
