MRI C Spine....

Im having one on Saturday...its not with contrast...should it be with contrast or do they not do that with the spine?  The lady at the hospital said they only do contrast if you have had surgery in the past.  Any ideas??

for some reason, my GP and Neuro don't like to add the contrast I noticed...I asked the Neuro and he said it can sometimes not be so nice...??  Not sure what that meant?

he also said it could give people reactoins so they give it only when really needed?

you would this looking for MS lesions is reasons enough??  I don't know...

take care and let us know how things go

Hey there!

Well, I dont' understand why the lady at the hospital would say such a thing.  The script would just have to say with and without contrast and then they would administer the contrast agent, and that's it.

The hospital is only going to do what the orders or script says.  The only way to get contrast would be to ask your doctor.  Active lesions can be seen with contrast.

Good luck to you on Saturday!

Be well,
