I went to the neurologist today and I am definitely having a flare.  I have three new, active lesions on my brain and although they didn't do my spine, she thinks I have a new one on the left between C2-C3 because I'm having issues on my right side now too.  I've only had three Tysabri infusions so there's a good possibility I wasn't "fully protected" yet.  She said I have very active MS so this is still my best option right now.  It isn't nearly as bad as the one I had in October last year so I'm really hoping the Tysabri kept it down.  We decided to give it at least another 3 infusions before we give it any more thought unless I get worse.  

The IV for the contrast with the MRI leaked some of the stuff into my arm so my wrist and arm are very swollen and sore.  Because the tissue is already aggrivated, she decided not to do IVSM, but said we could do oral prednisone if I wanted to.  I told her I just wanted to stick with my acupuncture and that made her happy.  I think she finally realized I wasn't being a  hypochondriac!  I'm hoping we're on the right track!

Hi Chris,

Ugh, must be disheartening. To know there are more lesions, that you are on something strong, and having this break through.

I too hope it's the case that your not fully protected, and a few more treatments under your belt do the trick. Wishing you a speedy recovery from this attack :( and you get to feeling better soon.
