MRI request

I have a question.  I requested a copy of my mri's and reports. For my doctors appt on the 21st.   So I got them today and I decided to pop them in the computer.
I have had 10 mri mostly without constrast and on a 1.5 machine.

I don't know if anyone will know these answer as I have looked everywhere to try and find out.

What is mild atrophy of paraspinal musculature ?    This was on a thoracic spine mri.

Also,  what is conus at L1?

   Then brain mri.

What is major intracranial arferial flow voids are patent ?

Does anyone know what this means ?

         Any thoughts or comments ?

Thanks for any help with this.

        God bless,  Take care

Hi Misty,

Paraspinal musculature is the group of muscles along the spine to help it move.  Mild atrophy of these means that they are decreasing in size.

Conus is the end of your spinal cord - which is situated near your lumbar veterbral level L1.

Hope this helps,
Kelly

Re: 'major intracranial arferial flow voids present', means the vessels in your brain are seen as flowing well.. There are no blockages.

I just happened to remember reading that on the board another time.  I have no idea on the other.  Maybe someone else can be of help.
