There is evidence of a tiny focus of restricted diffusion adjacent to the posterior horn of the right lateral ventricle measuring 3mm with corresponding high signal intensity on FLAIR and T2 consistent with recent ischaemic event.  A old lacunar infarct is seen in the corona radiata and a further old lacunar infarct on the left. Caps and bands of periventricular high signal intensity on T2 and FLAIR noted due to age related changes. No evidence of haemorrhage or micro haemorrhage.  Normal appearances of the brain stem and cerebelum.  The ventricles are slightly dilated likely related to degree of atrophy.

A: "No evidence of haemorrhage or micro haemorrhage" basically means you haven't the evidence of ever having a stroke. Demyelination conditions like MS are unlikely to be an alternative explanation because your MRI hasn't noted anything specific to MS....from my understanding these types of MRI findings would usually be within normal parameters for someone in there 70's, i'm not reading anything on your MRI that would be indicating there's anything more than age related ischaemic micro vascular white matter changes.

Keep in mind this is a patient to patient support group for people with MS and you are always better off discussing meaning of test results with your doctors.
