Hi and welcome. There are a number of us here who weren't diagnosed until later, including me just this year at age 54. So please don't let any doctor tell you your age rules out a dx of MS for you.
The symptoms you describe sound rather vague to me, so more testing would definitely be in order if you're not feeling better. I know there are a lot of reasons for you to be concerned, so please follow through with all possibiliities.
Stay in touch,
Lulu
Hi. We've had many discussions about age and MS. If you scroll down a page or two you can find a recent one. The bottom line is that you are not too old for MS at all, really only past the average age.
Youir symptoms could well be MS, but they could be lots of other things too. You need a thorough assessment including a comprehensive physical exam (take a good 30 minutes), a lot of blood work to rule out certain mimics, and MRIs of brain and spine. If you neuro isn't taking this appraoch then you need to get a new one, who's better at his job.
Meanwhile I welcome you to our forum. I'm sue you'll like it here. Please take time to read our Health Pages (upper right on screen). They will answer a great many of your questions.
