Anyone have blurry vision for about a couple hours upon getting up in the morning?
It seems to clear itself after that.........

Don't have double vision but it looks like am looking thru distorted glass.  Doesn't make any difference what direction I look in.

Hi

I experience double vision when I'm tired, over hot, stressed etc.

When I mentioned it to my opticians during a routine exam she asked what medications I was on, she looked up 2 of them (Gabepentin and Amitrtynle - sp) they both had double vision as a side-affect.

She did write to my GP to advise him but that's about it.

I agree any problems with the eyes should be bought to your neuros attention ASAP.

Good luck x

Positional double vision can be related to weakness in the eye muscles.  It takes different amounts of contraction to maintain tracking when your head is not in it "normal" upright position.  Mention it to your doctor and they may spend a bit more time testing your eye motion and  looking for nystagmus  on extreme lateral gaze.

I had severe and constant double vision for a year or so, actually still have it very mildly on my far left lateral gaze.  Nowadays it will re-appear sporadically, when I'm overheated and/or very fatigued, but never upon laying down as you describe.

I believe any visual disturbance should be reported to your doc promptly, it is one of those symptoms that will get your doc's attention fast.  In fact for me it was a bit of a blessing in disguise, as disturbing as it was, because it was this symptom, and not all the numbness, tingling, 'hug', etc that immediately preceded it, that quickly got me to the very top of the urgent list for MRIs, emergency neuro consult, same day LP, diagnosis, IVSM treatment, and referrals to MS clinic and neuro-ophthalmologist and commencement of DMD therapy.

If it were me, I wouldn't wait for my next appt to mention this; I would call my doc promptly to let him know what's happening.

I get this when I do things quickly. Like laying down, standing up, reading, turning too quickly. I keep forgetting to mention it to my doctor as well but I think that it's important. My dr. says anything with my vision is important! I'd write a note on the computer to remind yourself. And I'll do the same! :)
