MS and Pregnancy

Ok.. so I have been having some random symptoms of pregnancy lately such as extremely sore\tender breasts, fatigue, and now.. 2 weeks b4 my period is supposed 2 stat I am bleeding.. at first it was just like spotting but now its aot like a period (as of today). I am on betaseron and I didn't know if it could mess with your period like tha or make your breasts sore.. (fatigue is a normal ms symptom tho so that doesn't concern me except its been worse lately). Plus.. I have been noticing that its harder for me 2 hold it when I have to pee and smetimes it leaks (which again could be ms related). I'm just worried and really can't do a test yet.. any1 have any ideas?

Hi there, I started Betaferon at the end of August and have had heaps of side effects, the most annoying of which is the change to my menstrual cycle.I am bleeding every 2 weeks currently, and have now been put on other meds to try and kick my cycle back into normality.Having consulted a gynaecologist as I was so worried, he is convinced the Betaferon is to blame.I am now waiting to speak to my neurologist because I need to stop the drug.It is destroying my quality of life and for me, there must be a better option.

From what I know, the interferons don't interfere with your cycle.  I would have a discussion with your doctor about the symptoms you are having if they are new.

If you are thinking about getting pregnant you especially want to talk to the doctor about being onthe Betaseron while trying to  conceive.
best, Lu
