Hi, There is no great source of information available in Singapore although I can tell you that Rebif will cost you around $7,000 for a 3 month supply or you can now get the new oral medication Gilenya which is taken orally everyday and costs around $130 per pill. No cheap treatments available here! My husband currently sees a Dr. Alvin Seah at Raffles Hospital perhaps if you call them they can give you an idea? There is also a support group called MS CARE you can contact them on 68359916 or email Amelia Mok ***@****
Good luck!
I contacted Shared Solutions about getting Copaxone in the Philippines several months ago, they provided me this number in Singapore, 65-65090403. Hope this maybe of some help.
I saw disease modifying treatments quoted at a certain monthly price with a mention of a patient's assistance fund in this article from the Singapore General Hospital, but it is from 2007, so 'reader beware'. http://www.sgh.com.sg/about-us/newsroom/News-Articles-Reports/2007/Pages/Hard-hitting-illness-shakes-up-young-lives-The-Business-Times--20071020.aspx
It seems information is pretty scarce on the ground. Asia in general doesn't have high levels of incidence of prevalence of MS, so it could be that government literature or programmes don't make specific mention of it very often. I found it quite a challenge to look for, anyway!
If you live in or will be living in Singapore, I'd say the first step would be getting in contact with a good neurologist or the neurology department at a large hospital. They may be more familiar with the specifics about treatment options and cost, etc.
