Just wondering if anyone has anyone has advice for me. I was diagnosed with viral meningitis in early August, had a spinal tap to determine it. about two weeks after I was feeling a little better still kind of out of it, feeling weak, dizzy, headaches, shaky. I woke up in the middle of the night and was having involuntary movements lasted for about 15 minutes took a valium and it stopped. Went to the hospital the next day and of course they were scared of seizure activity and maybe encephalitis. So I had another spinal tap, a Cat scan, and an MRI with dye. and also an EEG. While I was in the hospital I started having fasciculations all over my body frequently and also while I was sleeping I would have bigger jerks then normal while you are first dozing off and it wakes you up. Well after all this all of my tests came back Negative everything was normal. So I came home and tried to just get on with my life but Nothing really went away I still felt weak, was having twitches, tingling, cramping, dizzy, shaky. So I went to a neurologist and he really didnt think it was any type of motor neuron disease I had a blood test done and also an EMG. The Blood test was normal and the EMG from the person who performed it said it looked normal but he said he had to take closer look with the neurologist. I also sometimes feel like I have bit of trouble swallowing only when I drink water not when I eat. I am waiting to go back to the doctor but I didnt have any of these symptoms before I got the meningitis. I also do suffer from anxiety and this whole meningitis definitely scared me a lot. I just am very scared that I have MS because I know that these symptoms are associated with MS. I also heard that BFS can sometimes happen after a viral infection and I know what I had was pretty significant. So I am hoping that it is BFS but cant stop thinking that its MS.
