MS pain.

What is it like and where do you get it?

Strange question I know.  I have pain but never really considered it might be MS related.  It is shooting stabbing pain.  My left hand today.  My lower back is a mess.

Hmm, well the pain I get sounds like what both of you are getting.  I thought it might be arthritis pain.  But I have no arthritis diagnosis.  Nothing that would really indicate arthritis like swelling joints.

But oh do I get pain that radiates.  It feels like I have been hit by a hammer and takes my breath away.  I do get the zaps of pain.  I was getting them in my right foot until I got my AFO's.  They have made a huge difference in my zapping in my foot.

Low back pain and stiffness..........awful.  The muscle relaxer I am on is helping but I still have terrible stiffness when I get up in the morning. I feel like a walking board.

I have had what they doctor believes is the hug.  It starts in my back and comes around my ribs.  It is so uncomfortable I can hardly move.  I was getting very sharp pain.  So bad I literally could not move and had to take very small breath's.

Since I have started my variety of medications I have had relief from pain that is so severe in my midsection at least.

I still get some facial pain but I know I have Trigeminal Neuralgia from being dx'd with it by my PCP several years ago.  That is PAIN like no other pain.

Maybe I should say something to my MS doctor.  My next appointment is on the 16th of this month.

I know they can increase my muscle relaxer but gee do I get sleepy after I take it!!

I think most can definalty tell MS and regular pain....The pain i get is alot in my joints..very stiff tight like feeling and i just went to bend that joint the opposite direction and stretch it as far as i can till it breaks lol it seriously gets to me sometimes....My lower and middle back is always in pain 24/7 like right now it just feels cramped no shooting or stabbing just hard and tight.....i also get those lil stabs of pain in joints and throughout my whole body  mainly my calve muscle its a sharp pain that just zings me real quick then leaves and then theres the ones that stay for awhile and cant get rid of....My hand get it the most its sharp shooting and stabbing pain and it just lingers  mmmmthere alot more pain i get but those are the main ones the joint tightness gets to my most and when the stabbing gets bad it gets bad i was on the floor just holding  my elbow a few days ago it was so bad...i should up my meds but i dont know....

I have Trigeminal Neuralgia and that is really painful.  The antisezuire meds I am on help a lot.

I have deep pain with spasms in my lower back and legs.  The Baclofen helps.  I have pain in my hands so maybe that is more arthritis related.

The pain I have comes and goes so it is something I am not sure if it is MS related or not.

Thank you,

I have what the Neuro calls deep nerve pain in my legs.  It's like having sand paper rubbed on them.  I did ask for meds to help with the pain, but his answer was Tysabri will take care of that!!!  So I just have to suffer.  I suppose I'm lucky it's still hot here and I don't have to wear anything on my legs.  I can touch them, but if anyone else does I shoot through the roof!
