Male pregnancy question

I have missed you all terribly but sharing one computer between 7 people has proven to be quite difficult!
I have a friend that is in great need of an answer and I immediately thought of you all.  I told him if you didn't have the answer, not many will. lol.
Okay, he lives in the UK and has MS. He takes beta-interferon and would love to start a family with his wife but is concerned about hisself. I haven't found any information on males that take it other than men who are concerned if they would be fertile or if the beta would harm the child.
Do any of you have any info about males,MS, the meds, and their ability/inability to have children/healthy children?
Thanks and BIG Hugs to all of you!

P.S. I also have a question for myself I'll post seperately...thanks for any and all advice ahead of time!!

I'm not sure there is enough information or research to determine if there is a risk for increased birth defects or any type of abnormal development of fetus or sperm while taking Betaseron.

There is an increased incidence of spontaneous abortion (miscarriage) for women if they continue to take this drug while pregnant.  I believe that is the main reason women are urged to discontinue the interferons three months before a planned pregnancy.

I can't find strong evidence for the same caution for Copaxone users but many docs will always err on the side of caution (rightly, imho) when considering reproductive precautions.

Wow, MS, that is an interesting question and I have no clue.  I know that they recommend women go off of the DMDs before trying to get pregnant but I don't know about the men.  Perhaps a call to the drug manufactuer's help line would be in order and a discussion with his consultant.

now to go read your question....
