I have just learned that my niece has Miller Fisher Syndrome. I hope you have recovered, although I understand it takes time. Is there any helpful advice you can give us? It would be much appreciated.
Try this, it has some info:

There's not just a lot of "free" info out there on this. (My numbness has gone from head to toe, but on the left side only) I am undiagnosed so it is always interesting to read about some of these "rare" diseases. My life has become so sad!

Hi to both of you,and nice to meet you both. Soonermom is right, GBS (guillian-Barre syndrome is a disease of the peripherial nerveous system that is acute paralysis usually starting in the feet and moving upward. MFS (miller-fisher syndrome is a rare variant of GBS that also is an acute illness that has the reversed cource order starting in the head and decends downward. I had asked my neurologist about this possibly being what I had when I had my first and only attack two years ago.I suspected this because I had a lot of facial twitching around the eyes and forehead , eye and scalp numbness at the onset of symptoms. my symptoms over the last two years has seemed to move downward to my neck stiffness, and now my latest symptom tingleing on the outside of my arms and now the lower part of the back of my legs.He said that we neurologist are always looking for a patient who has CSN involvement with MFS, but he thought I would have a facial droop that would be noticable and not just twitching and weakness in one side of my face. I was just wondering if anyone had read about this and knew if white matter brain lesions has been found in this syndrome.
Hi soonermom:
Thank for clearing that up for me!!!
Very understandable explantion/ defintion. Gollie
From what I understand, GBS is a peripheral nerve disorder not a CNS disorder. Instead of white matter lesions in the brain, there would be loss of myelin in the peripheral nerves. I think it progresses rapidly also, usually with in weeks.
