Once again guys, thanks for your advice!
I'm going to call my neuro on thursday morning. He has an average 2 hour wait for appointments because if you have any issues come up then he wants to see you right away. So, while it can be annoying to wait 2+ hours for your scheduled appointment, you know that if/when you are the one having the problem then you will be moved to the front of the line, so to speak. It's worth the wait for me.
My neuro has said, repeatedly, that he wants me to come in when I have any problem or symptoms. I just wish I had the ability to go be seen tomorrow. But, like my husband said, "I guess we need to hope that the pain sticks around through the end of the week!" Weird way to think about it though LOL
Thanks for the help!

Hi, Jess. The burning and stinging are definitely neuropathic, considering that nothing functional is wrong with your feet. Neuropathic pain can be caused by either peripheral or central nervous system problems, but either way a good neurologist is needed.
At the same time, what you describe can relate to diabetes or B12 deficiency, among other conditions I don't know a lot about. Your neuro can do blood work for these, as can your PCP.
As to the severe foot pain, it sounds muscular, which could be from spasticity or maybe even an injury you weren't even aware of.
I think the bottom line is that either type of doctor could help you. I'd pick the neuro first, but you might be able to see your PCP faster.
Sending good wishes,

wish I could help you with this one, I would call my GP and see if it's a DR thing or MS..
I get spasm type things on the side of my feet..only for a day or two and it's gone. The burning only last me a few minutes on and off.
I take Gabapentin to help with this
let us know how things go.
