Hoooorrrayyy for blood patches!!!  They work incredibly well as you have just found out. I recall that my headache was gone within an hour after the blood patch.  I'm glad your doctor didn't give you any hassle about doing it.  Some do.

Take it easy though for the rest of the day and do what they told you to do because you don't need that nasty headache coming back.

Ok guys ....they did a blood patch and the head is all better!!! The blood patch procedure itself was one of the worst experiences of my life !! I was screaming for my momma !!! But I do have to say it was well worth the pain to get rid of that AWFUL headache.

Hubby called Dr. and i have to be at his office at noon tomorrow.....said something about a nerve block????? I have no idea what that consists of but really don't want another needle in my spine. I did exactly what they told me,laid flat on my back for 72 hours only getting up to go to the restroom. I will keep you guys posted as to how it turns out tomorrow.

Oh, the pain is horrible.

Hope you are flat somewhere and resting, or that you went for the blood patch.  It's the only thing that eases and heals a leak if thats what has happened.

Did you call the Dr.?

Let us know how you made out.

I had both the back and headache. I cried all night the first night from my back. I don't cry. It hurt to breath in my back for the next 24 hours. If I stood up it was like a sickening feeling. The Doctor who did it on a Friday did not care about the pain. Another Dr. gave me Oxycotin on Wednesday and I took two all together. All of it lessened day by day slowly over two weeks but I could only be up for 15 minutes at a time.

The guy who did my procedure in the UK, said if you get a headache lie down but elevate your legs and keep up your fluids.

I had a horrible post-LP headache (couldn't be upright at all--husband had to carry me to the bathroom).  My sympathies go out to you!  Call your doctor and ask how to schedule a bloodpatch.  It's honestly an INSTANT fix.  (My jerky doctor wouldn't "let" the ER do it after only 36 hours--I had to wait 5 days.  It was 7 years ago and it still upsets me.)

I hope you feel better soon!!
