CSF results are normal except one "misc test"

My csf results are normal, protein, sed rate, glucose, etc. the dr ordered "IP miscellaneous test" and the results are 34880. Could this be the band test? Of corse these were posted to my patient portal and I haven't talked to the dr.

How long ago did you get the test? O-band results take longer to come back than the other stuff. They have to send it out to a specialty clinic like Mayo and have them do the electrophoresis separation. It's usually about three weeks before the results come back.

O-bands are usually clearly marked, at least on the paper version of results. But with a number like 34880, that wouldn't be the oligoclonal band results anyway. Those will usually be written like: >4 or <2. They will be very small numbers. Also, o-band testing means little in isolation. This result must be compared to the bands found in the blood that was taken at the same appointment to have any diagnostic significance.
