Vertigo & Nausea

All day I have been having vertigo that is causing nausea. I was out with my daughter and tried to get on an escalader. That was a mistake! I almost fell backward. My daughter caught me thank goodness! It has not gone away. I feel like the floor is moving (that earthquake feeling again!!) but this is the longest it has ever lasted and it is the first time it has caused the nausea. I had to drive home 30 miles too - not fun!! Has this happened to anyone else? When will it go away?
Thanks!
Lisa

I am pleased that you have an appointment with your neuro on Monday and I hope that this is not another attack, vertigo is horrible to deal with and in a severe form can be very disabling.

I can relate to the incontinence as well, but I only have it mildly but it can be socially disabling.  Keep us posted on the outcome of your appointment.

I hope it goes well for you and that you can get some relief.  Keep us posted on how you get on...

Many other MSers on the forum get vertigo, I think it is associated more with brainstem lesions but don't quote me on this.

My vertigo I am pretty certain is migraine but I guess I can never be totally certain.

Cheers,
Udkas.

I have an appt with neuro on Monday and will tell her about the vertigo. This is not the first time I've had it. I have been getting it on and off for quite awhile but this is the worst it has been. I am better today tho. I hope it is not another attack coming on. For the most part my symptoms have been quiet lately, thank heavens! Just some pain. That I can handle, it is the inconitence that I can't!! That has been by far the worst symptom I have!!

Thank you,
Lisa

Hi there,
I do hope you feel better soon.  You should always get your vertigo checked out by a doctor as MS is not the only thing that can cause vertigo, it is easy when we are diagnosed with MS to blame everything on MS but if it's a new symptom it could be another MS attack or it could be from migraine headache or from an ear infection etc. ear problems can also cause vertigo.

I get vertigo and some nausea from migraines but I get the migraine without the headache, so the vertigo and the nausea are the aura part of the migraine.. this could be something to consider too, but I would get it checked out by a Dr. Depending on the cause is what type of treatment they are likely to give.

Cheers,
Udkas.
