Normal brain MRI for past 5.5 years..spine lesions?!?!

Hi I'm wondering if anyone could give me some input on my situation. I'm a 27 year old female and lately I feel like I'm losing mind. In October 2007 I developed optic neuritis in my left eye. I saw a neurologist and a great neuro-opthamologist in Philadelphia. I had a brain MRI with and without contrast done at the time and it came back normal.

No other symptoms but in 2009 I had a repeat brain MRI just because ever since I was diagnosed with ON I've been terrified of developing MS. My brain MRI was again done with and without contrast and came back normal.

In January of this year (2013) I had awful upper back pain..it started out as an itch over my left shoulder blade then felt prickly and at times was so painful it felt like someone beat that spot with a baseball bat. From start to finish these pains in my back lasted two weeks then faded off. But my left shoulder blade still feels strange.

About a week ago I then developed a burning sensation in my legs in the back of my upper thighs. Feels like brush burn. It would happen at night then during the day they would just feel weird. I went to my neuro again and had another brain MRI done about two weeks ago and it was normal. It was done on a 3T with and without contrast.

My neuro also ordered one of my C and T spine..however I don't have insurance and payed out of pocket for my brain MRI.

I have to add that ever since I had the optic neuritis I've been having terrible anxiety about developing MS. I have severe anxiety and used to be on Paxil. I find if weird that my symptoms usually show up at night. Could it be anxiety? I feel like I'm going crazy. Would it be possible to have normal brain MRIs for 5.5 years since my optic neuritis but maybe have a lesion on my spine?? I'm really scared and any input would be appreciated!

I've never had any cardiac tests or follow-ups. There wasn't any pain or numbness in my left arm. It was just an area of skin near my left shoulder blade on my upper back. It felt like shingles pain. I had shingles on my torso over the summer. It was that same itching, burning, prickly pain.

you might contact the MRI facility, sometimes they can lower the cost if you have no insurance or work out a payment plan.

back/shoulder pain on LEFT side can often be attributed to cardiac problems. Are you up to date in that area?
