Not an urgent question, but ...

I understand the concept of pump head from open heart surgery and brain fog from heart drugs BUT

What do you call this muddled brain of mine that signed all sorts of documents and other things today ALL DAY at work with the year 2009?  I finally caught my error about 3:30 this afternoon....

And while I am asking ridiculous questions, have you given a name to the phenomenon of not being able to complete any task in a hurry or straight line? For example, I used to be able to whip up a batch of chocolate chip cookies in under 30 minutes from start to finish (coming out of the oven).  Now 30 minutes is barely enough time for me to assemble the ingredients....  I've given new meaning to the phrase "slow cooker."

These are some of the little unmeasurable symptoms that only you all would understand ....

Be well, Laura

Another term I use a lot is another one I adopted from Quixie--human statue.  Some mornings I am a human statue until my Provigil kicks in.  I stand looking in my closet, unable to think, or move--just like a statue (LOL)!  I just love that term, because it describes this phenomenon so well.

As far as the "tryping", I can't think (imagine that) of a creative term for that.  I may have to borrow from someone else, AGAIN!  Hehe

I have the problem of thinking one word and typing a completely different word - I haven't come up with a phrase for that yet.

But I was explaining the problem to a friend in an email and my fingers weren't working at all... I was trying to write -
"when I am trying to type" came out "when I am tryping" - so now to us when I am trying to type, and it isn't coming out right we call is TRYPING

It is especially bad since I work in an English department and must type accurately for my job (as well as proof read).   :-)

I would love to expand my vocabulary with phrases the rest of you use to recognize the ongoing problems... and I would love to be able to remember them too!

I'm there with ya!!  It takes me half a day to just make a grocery list!!!  And yes, I have always loved to cook and especially try out new recipes....not anymore....it's all I can do to cook the tried and true ones I have cooked for years.

I guess Q's teflon brain would be what is happening with me.  I will think of something, like when posting here, and before I can get the thought out......it's gone to the nether regions.

I was always a multi tasker, doing 4 or 5 things at a time, but now staying focused on one thing and managing to finish it is almost impossible.  Takes me forever to clean house as I will jump from one thing to the other without finishing anything!!

I forget things almost before I think of them...ha...ha...ha.......

At least we all have each other, that is if we don't forget........

Hugs

Uh, I'm sure we can come up with some great names can't we?

I've heard it referred to as Teflon Brain (by Doc Q)

I'm happy when I get sporatic moments of days gone by.  I get all elated! LOL!

Ok, lets make up some new brain names for theses "unmeasurables"....

Have fun w/it!
