You sound good girlfriend, so very glad. The thread is fabulous, and I cannot wait till we see some pictures.....
LOL .... this is absolutely lovely, and I wish the wilderness.
Well, we have bald eagles, and baby wrens, and Big BUCKS 5 point ones walking around, and soon, we fill see our little bambi's
We also have quail, and tons and tons of lizards.
So, we all can just open our eyes, and try to see through the fog that we all have, and blurry vision and double vision, and try to open the curtains and enjoy, just for a moment if nothing else.
That is what we are doing too,
Keep up posted on any other great news, it is always good to have nice things too..

Fantastic thread. I love wildlife and love to read what you all see. I haven't been out lately, so this is wonderful to graze through. Thank you.
add 3 fox trying to confuse me by crossing the road about a mile apart and each successive one going in the opposite direction....
then the raccoon who with nerve growled outside my bedroom window last night, until I interrupted his "attempted kill with loud bangs from my flashlight on the window until I sheepishly realized I could also break the window............but success as victim and upset predator both left in opposite directions........
I think Dennis's wildlife count is a great way for us to remember to notice the little things in life...........
I do not have the pictures yet, hope to get them over the week-end, I came off for infusion and realized they are on DH's camera, not mine............son has also move up leave date and I have to scramble now!
Infusion went well, but tons of rain covering whole state......
I've had lots of time to bird watch this spring ... got some photos and video footage of 5 crows bullying a juvenile redtail hawk about two weeks ago. My favourites of 2013 -- the meadowlarks. We've also had deer and coyotes (more sightings that usual).
I was never a fan of birds until we moved further out of town. Now I wouldn't trade the sound of them in the morning for anything!
I agree. It's worth the drive!
This thread makes me smile! I love when Dennis' tales involve spottings! :)
We're big on wildlife in my house! And very lucky to live in an area full of hawks and bald eagles. We have a couple of hawks that return each year to nest that we've named Tony and Mo...get it? ;)
My in-laws treated us to a day at the raptor center in BC last summer where we got to hold, catch and release, and feed hawks and owls. Coolest day of my life!
My kids love to keep a tally of animals we see when we go places...even squirrels and raccoons count!
Very cool! I haven't seen any baby ducks this year at all. And my work building is next to the Grand River. Of course we did have our worst flooding in 100 years, so that might be part of the reason. I did see both male and female cardinals this past weekend when I was about an hour and 15 minutes southeast of here.
We have quite a few Redtails where I live. I even found a HUGE feather in my yard. We also get herons around here and sometimes even sandhill cranes around here. Commuting stinks with the price of gas, but I'm glad that I moved out of the city.
Add this to the list - two blue jays chasing a red tailed hawk in the yard this morning. Obviously the hawk was looking to scavenge from their nest.
