This is funny but not so funny. Lol. I read summers post but my brain interpreted ice pick instead of ice pack all the way through the message. Go back and read it that way. I was like OMG!! :/
Anyways, after trying to figure out what a gel ice pick was, I reread the message and got it read the right way...thank God! :)
Alex, I figured that was what you were doing with Grady. It is really good of you to plan ahead for Polly's retirement and not lose the help of a service dog when the time comes.

Sorry to hear about your migraines. Before my diagnosis I was getting frequent migraines (weekly at the end) Kind of simple treatment but we keep an ice pack in the freezer (the gel one) I was so desperate I tried tying it to the one side of my head with a bandana and laying really still in a dark room and I think it helped some. Yuck.
I had a migraine a few days ago, knock on wood, it had been 6 months since I had one. I did my ice pack. Luckily I can usually swallow painkillers with mine. vomitting once and a while.
Someone I know uses a nose spray of imovane of something like that. That would be good so you don't have to swallow anything.
Thanks everyone. These symptoms are my normal life. I guess what I am saying is it amazes me I am positive with them. When I started the forum I was so depressed the Doctors were thinking Shock Treatments were my only option. Thank Goodness I waited it out. Some how causing brain damage to an already damaged brain did not seem like a good idea.
Grady will take at least two years to train. That is how long it takes to train a Service Dog. Polly will be at least ten by then. Grady will help her when she gets tired until she is ready to fully retire. Also I hope to have him so well trained he can pick up a credit card off the floor.
I did not realize it but Grady is a Treeing Walker Coon Hound one of the smartest but most stubborn of breeds so I have a challenge. He picks up on things quickly but is very dominant. He sings like a coon hound it is very funny. He throws his head back and goes burr, burr, burr.
In obedience class he did not like the wet gravel so he jumped up on my canvas chair. The instructor laughed. He is very much like Boomer in intelligence the dog we lost.
Just to say hope you feel better soon..being sick is the pits.Glad that the dogs are keeping you distracted but take care and keep us posted how you are doing.
Love and hugs

Alex, hang in there.
I'm so sorry these things are hitting you again. Can you take injectable sumatriptan? My sis has suffered from awful migraines for many years, but gets good relief from Imitrex. Maybe you could too.
How nice that the pups love each other. Grady looks as if he'll be quite a big guy, which I guess is good if he's in training to assist. Will he stay your dog, to help Polly and afterwards? I hope so.
We do love our furry friends, don't we?

Alex, sorry your body is feeling pretty crappy right now but am so inspired to see that you are not letting it seep into your mind!
Very cute pic of the furbabies! I'm sure having Polly there to guide Grady in his training will be vert beneficial. My Hope is five months old now and I think she is doing pretty good in hers. We are still working on basic obedience, but she is very willing to learn and please. My daughter is training her and i have been pleasantly surprised in her patience and assertiveness-she is becoming a beautiful trainer and I am so proud of her! I believe Hope will turn out to be a fine service dog for me, as I am sure Grady will be for you! :)
Hugs,
Addi
