I love the idea of the a "B" side and your choice of songs is excellent! Thanks for the great idea!!!!
Ren
How about on the 'b' side:-
Sister Sledge. We are FAMILY??? :))

Wow. Both songs give voice to how I feel sometimes.
Reminds me of another song I posted about ages ago, Until It Sleeps by Metallica. Here are a few excerpts that had meaning I though could relate to MS, ie; 'tell me why you've chosen me, don't want your grip, don't want your greed' speaks to the 'why me'? part about getting dx'ed, and the whole 'until it sleeps' speaks to the relapsing/remitting nature of RRMS.
Where do I take this pain of mine?
I run but it stays right by my side
So tear me open, pour me out
There's things inside that scream and shout
And the pain still hates me
So hold me until it sleeps
So tell me why you've chosen me
Don't want your grip, don't want your greed
Don't want it
I'll tear me open, make you gone
No more can you hurt anyone
And the fear still shakes me
So hold me until it sleeps
Bravo, Ren. We haven't had a sing-along in quite a while. Thanks for sharing. - L
I do know this song, just have never seen the video which IS very dark. You are correct it does conjure up the image of MS taking up residence in your body.
Ren
Congrats to Canada on their last minute win! Well played game.
I agree your song fits MS as well. It does describe what goes through one's mind if you sit and dwell on MS. I'm not familiar with this song, I'll have to go to YouTube to hear it.
This verse:
It's a thief in the night to come and grab you
It can creep up inside you and consume you
A disease of the mind, it can control you
It's too close for comfort
hits home solidly. Thanks for sharing another great suggestion.
Ren
haha! I love it! Perfect theme song for us. It brings back fond memories of a Huey Lewis and the News concert I went to, at the Pacific Coliseum in Vancouver [where Canada just won GOLD in hockey!!!), circa, ahem, 1985?
Another song, albeit much darker, that makes me think of MS whenever I hear it, is Disturbia by Rihanna:
What's wrong with me?
Why do I feel like this?
I'm going crazy now
No more gas, in the red, can't even get it started
Nothing heard, nothing said, can't even speak about it
On my life, on my head, don't wanna think about it
Feels like I'm going insane, yeah
It's a thief in the night to come and grab you
It can creep up inside you and consume you
A disease of the mind, it can control you
It's too close for comfort
Put on your pretty lies, you're in the city of wonder
Ain't gonna play nice, watch out you might just go under
Better think twice, your train of thought will be altered
So if you must falter, be wise
Your mind's in disturbia, it's like the darkness is light
Disturbia, am I scaring you tonight?
Disturbia, ain't used to what you like
Disturbia, disturbia
Faded pictures on the wall, it's like they talking to me
Disconnecting on calls, the phone don't even ring
I gotta get out or figure this sh** out
It's too close for comfort, oh
It's a thief in the night to come and grab you
It can creep up inside you and consume you
A disease of the mind it can control you
I feel like a monster, oh
Put on your pretty lies, you're in the city of wonder
Ain't gonna play nice, watch out you might just go under
Better think twice, your train of thought will be altered
So if you must falter be wise
Your mind's in disturbia, it's like the darkness is light
Disturbia, am I scaring you tonight?
Disturbia, ain't used to what you like
Disturbia, disturbia, disturbia
Release me from this curse I'm in
Trying to maintain but I'm struggling
If you can't go
I think I'm gonna
Put on your pretty lies, you're in the city of wonder
Ain't gonna play nice, watch out you might just go under
Better think twice, your train of thought will be altered
So if you must falter be wise
Disturbia, it's like the darkness is light
Disturbia, am I scaring you tonight?
Disturbia, ain't used to what you like
Disturbia, disturbia
You guys got to read this. You might even know the song. I agree with Ren that we need to have this as our theme song. Love it Ren and thanks for sharing it with us.
