Neurologist visit

Hi,
I have a few kind questions, I hope they aren't weird or silly.
I have not been diagnosed, but referred to a neurologist for evaluation. I had a recent MRI that shows some "spots" and white matter changes and a mention of the demyelinating process.

My appointment is coming up December 10th and I am starting to get scared. I don't have disability insurance or Long Term Care insurance. I am wondering if I should cancel my appointment and try and get these types of insurance before anything is diagnosed.

If I go to the appointment what do I need to do to prepare for the visit? What types of questions should I ask?

Thanks for listening to my fears.

Hi,
I know the scared feeling it can be overwhelming. The fear is worse than the reality. I went through it. I was confused and sacred an alone.

The insurance is tricky. Yes once you are diagnosed those insurances are near impossible to get. But you may be unable to now because of the MRI findings. It depends what questions they ask. You can't lie to insurance companies because they will take your premiums until you need to collect and then say sorry you lied we are not paying your disability.

If you go to the top right you will see something called health pages there is a lot if information there.

Know you are not alone.

Go ahead and get whatever insurance coverage you can get as soon as you can.

What symptoms if any are you experiencing?

From what you have said I doubt that the Neurologist is going to diagnose you with MS yet.

Be sure to right down the things that you are worried about before you go to your appointment. It is hard to remember the things you want to ask when your scared. I would ask the Dr if he will have you get spinal cord MRI. Start thinking about strange things that may have happened to you in the past (dizziness, numbness or vision problems). It might help with the diagnoses.

I hope you hear good news.
