Is your pain caused by the side effects of the surgery for your sprengel's deformity?
I have the shoulder, neck, arm pain much as you describe. My hand cramps up too. I've been to physical therapy, with no avail. First they said tendonitis, then posture. I just go with it and hope it doesn't lock up again.
I wish I had an answer for you, but unfortunately I can't get one for myself either.
Hi Shell,
The neck/head pain started a couple of months ago. That is what prompted me to see the doc in the first place. The doc referred me to a neuro, and then the mri was done, and after that the spinal tap. Last nights pain was more intense than the usual pain. I too thought that it might be related to the LP, but after the er doc saw me...He said that it was not related to the LP. He did seem to think I might need to get a mri of my spine. Hopefully my neuro will want to do that. My neuro did say that she thought my neck, and head pain was muscular, and probably not related to the ms type symptoms. From what I have read you can have muscle spasms with ms. Is this correct? I'm just trying to figure out what is going on. It is very frustrating. I hope it all comes together soon. Thanks for responding.
Kim
Sorry if I sound a little goofy tonight (meds) lol
Hey Gal,
When did the neck/head pain start? And, what does it do when you lay flat? And, did you call the neuro who ordered the LP about it? It doesn't sound classic spinal leak to me, but it's important to make sure.
Did MRIs show anything in your c-spine area? I get neck and shoulder pain that radiates on one side, but I think mine is related to c-spine issues. I have spuring, some broad based disc ridges, and have had a herniated disc in the same spot. The pain is a wretched. My largest lesion is in that area too - go figure.
Sorry to throw 2 different options at you (mechanical or lp related) but either way you should make a a call.
Wishing you better days,
shell
I forgot to add.....I also have been having problems with memory, and focus. It's very frustrating!
