I just looked and there is an MS Center at UK - webpage is

Call them and just start talking - tell them about yourself, what you need, what you think is wrong. Ask them how they can help you..........

Tammy,
The major medical colleges at the Universities seem to have a sliding scale for patient payment, based on income. I go to OSU in Columbus, and each one of their bills/statements includes information on how to get assistance with the bills and what the income scale is. Someone else here recently also wrote about a university on the West coast that does the same thing.
I would research the colleges there in KY - since they are the closest I would look at UK in Lexington. Its going to take some work on your part, but assistance is out there.
my best,
Lulu
How about going in and just focusing on the symptoms? Don't mention insurance and maybe it won't be such a factor--just try to get some answers as to a diagnosis. It's worth a shot. Good luck! Jane
Many of the larger medical groups have charity care (don't be offended, they are good programs) and you will be seen without charge. Unfortunately, that's only for office visits. Drug companies have patient assistant programs, so meds are sometimes free. It's the testing that will be the problem.
You are in a difficult situation and I hope you find a solution.
Blessings,
Sally
I just looked into this at the Cleveland Clinic. They offer free care for most of their services, as long as you provide proof of income and some other personal information. Call your local hospital and ask what their policy is,

I don't have insurance either. I actually called the hospital of the last ER visit I had and asked for the numbers of clinics and offices that bill based on income. I've now got a list of places to go to try to find a good PCP. I've had my first appointment which was mostly lung related and an xray is needed, so they have arranged for a 25 dollar xray. All that was needed was proof of income and residence. I hope that there's a similar place near you.
Love and light,
Diemyn
