Worried about getting a diagnosis

First I know this is a busy week for many, so wishing you all the best in your visits and tests!!  I don't go back to the Neuro until April, but I am really worried.  He is very familiar with me, even calls me personally with test results, he is not an MS specialist however.  Yet he is very bright, and cares about me.  I have been diagnosed with Myasthenia Gravis however he said on my visit that he would lean toward a demyelinating disease because of my decline in health and my age.  Now my MRI showed only a small stroke, which he felt has nothing to do with what is going on.  Since there were no lesions, what should we do next... we did not do a spine MRI or LP.  Should I stick with this Neuro or find one that treats more MS patients?
Thanks

Thanks again!  I will, for sure.  He already called in stroke specialist to see the MRI just to be safe, so it won't be hard to reemphasize that.
Acupuncture used to relax me, don't have it much anymore, probably should.
Enjoy your week off LOL :)
You are a gem, sure glad we have you!

as long as he knows he can call in help if it is beyond his scope he sounds fine to me.  I would reemphasize that question to him.

No appts. for me this week - none at all and that's a nice break.  Not even massage or acupuncture.  ... a clean slate.

That is what I was feeling also.  I did ask him, because he has been my neuro for 3 years and his specialty is muscle diseases, so I told him how I felt comfortable with him and would he feel comfortable with finding what is wrong even if it is not his usual field.  He said he was, that he knew me and my husband, and could see I was declining.  Then he said he would run an MRI (normal except for small stroke) and then "maybe needles later"-------He never lets his nurse call me he always does it--she and I laugh at that.
It does sound reasonable, I guess I am just scared.  You had an appt this week also, unless I have brain fog again??  Let us know how it goes.
Bless your heart, as my grandma used to say, for all you do and the help,
Thanks

Rudy, I would NOT change horses in the middle of this process if you have a doctor who takes a personal interest in you.  That is very rare.  I would see this neuro in April and ask him if he feel comfortable with dx'ing and treating MS and if not, would he refer you to a colleague who is.

What do you think - does that sound reasonable?
