Possible Seizure

Can trauma to the eardrum followed by a severe headache cause a seizure? The background...It was one of the scariest moments of my life. My fiance was cleaning his ear with a Q-tip when I accidentally bumped his arm. He flinched for a few minutes(there was no bleeding), said the left side of his head was kind of tingly, then he progressivley developed a headache. It took some aspirin and within literally minutes was asleep. It was odd for him to "pass out" like that so I kept an eye on him. I noticed that he would have long pauses in his breathing. I asked was he okay and he was nonresponsive. He then started to gasp for air and started clutching at me. His eyes were open but they were tilted in the back of his head. He had a look on his face that indicated to me that he was in pain of some sort, but he couldn't respond to my questions. I was scared to death so I called 911.

Over time he somehow emerged from his trance but was very groggy and didn't remember how he got into the ambulance or why.  He declined to be transported to the hospital that night and I am steadfast in getting him to his general practioner. I feel responsible for making him jam the Q-tip in his ear. Regardless, I am terribly concerned. Was this a one time thing or is there an underlying reason? Two weeks prior he had a physical and was perfectly fine. PLEASE ADVISE.....THANK YOU!

I popped my ear drum and aside from the hearing problems andthe fact I needed to keep my ear dry (no showers, no swimming etc) until the rupture healed I  didn't have much trouble it didn't even hurt that much I was sleeping and didn't notice until I woke up (it popped because of an infection, but I had more of a pressure plugged feeling, not too much pain)

I've never heard of anything that would cause a seizure by poking yourself with a q-tip.  However, the severe headache sounds like something to worry about.  I would talk with a neurologist immediately about his symptoms - he may have had a stroke.
