I went to the see a rhumatologist this week. Did LOTS of xrays...all my joints. Took 6 viles of blood & scheduled a hand & wrist MRI for tomorrow. My bones look good...he doesnt think rhumatoid arthritis...probable Lupus since I have family history. What can he tell from the MRI of hand?
Thanks for the info. I think my biggest concern right now is the hand/arm & foot numbness on my right side. The top of my right foot is als extremely sensitive to touch....& I am extremely fatiqued most of the time. I felt horrible ...very tired and achy for about two weeks. I was put on Mobic for swelling in hands by my GP. They are still swollen . ....just ready to find out whats going on!
Hi and welcome,
To answer your question, 'yes' some (not all) of your sx do MIMIC sx sometimes seen in MS but MIMIC doesnt mean that your sx are from MS, Lupus is one of the many MS mimics. Lupus can be just as difficult to dx and MS is but to be honest with you, there isn't enough repeated sx to even make me start thinking of Lupus, but that could just be from what you've written.
You've got an appt with a rheumatologist coming up soon which should help you work out if there is something like Lupus going on or not.
Cheers.........JJ
lupus does mimic MS, its one of the diseases we have to rule out.
you'd have to have an MRI and possibly an LP and rule out all of the
mimic diseases. they probably can rule in/out your lupus with blood tests.
good luck, sounds like you are due for a new good day
