Pregnancy & MS

Ok, so I'm not even a month pregnant yet, but I noticed I'm still experiencing the same symptoms I've had since last September, including dizziness (rocking boat is how it feels), tingles in lower legs, wiggly eyes, headache, and almost constant buzzing in foot, among other things.  So I'm wondering if I do have MS, when do the symptoms go away?  Or do they go away?  I've read on the forum that symptoms usually subside during pregnancy in an MS patient, so I'm very curious to see whether mine stay or go, but I wish they'd just go!!

I went to the rheumatologist who ruled out Lupus due to normal bloodwork.  Also went through tests with neuro (nerve conduction, EMG for inner ear, and several MRIs) and he never found anything.  Needless to say I am frustrated, and now I'm a little unnerved with my pregnancy.  It was kind of a surprise, and hubby and I are very happy, but still, I'm a little concerned how everything's going to go. Praying that baby and mommy are healthy!

I welcome your thoughts on the subject.

Thanks!
Kelly

Hi Lulu,

Thanks for your well wishes.  I am not positively diagnosed with anything, and I'm not sure what to think at this point.  All my tests have come back normal, except this morning I found out from my GP that my vitamin D is low.  All I know is that I am experiencing weird symptoms that my neuro thought might be MS but nothing showed up on the tests he ran (of course he never bothered to read my MRI scan though).

Thanks again for your response.

Kelly,
Congratulations to you and your husband.  What a joy to share this news with all of us - thanks for including us in the celebration.

I know I have read the same as you - pregnancy kicks those hormones into a different gear and corrals that MS into a quiet corner.  I don't know if this is immediate or takes a while.

Sorry, but I'm forgetting - are you diagnosed positively for MS?

Be well and be happy!
