Problems with insurance

Last year I got diagnosed with MS in the states , now I was supposed to get my treatment back home , however im having problems with my insurance here.. When I was there I heard  that if I did some kind of couse in the country for at least 6 months I could get the treatment.  I ll apreciate if anyone knows anything about this subject  in Maryland or DC .. because it´s been more than 6 months and im really worried about it, it seams like my  insurance will delay  more and if I have another options I will like to take them , Rebif  here is kind of expensive if I buy it by my own , it's more than 5000 soles per month  (more than 2000 $) ... If anyone knows a similar case  or  have any information about it I 'd appreciate it. Thanks.

Greetings.  It always saddens me when I hear that people can't get their drugs through their insurance.  The cost can be so prohibitive.  I have absolutely no knowledge of how patient assistance programs work outside ofthe US.

Can you have this discussion with your doctors and see if they know the way to get Rebif  for you?

Please come back and feel free to share more of your story.

best, Lulu

Not sure about insurance, but most drug companies have a patient assistance program to help people with cost.  They require financial information. All they can say is no. Give it a try.

I don't know anything about what qualifies visitors to the US to get treatments here.  I assume you are from Peru since you mentioned soles.  Did your insurance pay for the diagnostic tests you had here?

Anyway, bumping this to the top in hopes someone with info will see it and answer you.
