I'm so happy today!

I just had, to share:) I'm sitting in a Starbucks in Seattle.....no kids, no laundry, no dinner to cook, just relax!

My hubby is the First Sergeant in the 204th Army band (reservist), and the band travels everywhere. I've had some really great experiences, and seen more of the country than ever when I get to travel with him. The Army loves their band, so he gets put up in some pretty posh digs, and I get to go, well sometimes.

This trip we drove from Vancouver, WA (home) to Walla Walla, WA and stayed in this beautiful historic hotel. Hubby played at a change of command for the Army Corps of Engineers. Cool ceremony, they had some gentlemen from the local Native American Tribe come and perform a ceremonial blessing, one of them was the chief, anyway it was really an experience! And of course my hubby's band sounded awesome. After that we were off to Seattle!

Here in Seattle, Hubby just has to play at a change of command, very common event, so I decided to sit here in Starbucks and catch up a little instead. After this we are off to a non-military drive to the Oregon coast for the night.

I see my neuro bright and early Monday morning for my much anticipated LP results, he actually wanted to see me on Friday but I decided that this trip was way more fun than getting my LP results. Though I’m very anxious and considered driving four hours back to see him and then another four hours returning to Walla Walla , but then that would be just plain desperate, because I would have had to proceed to Seattle that same day. My butt defiantly couldn’t have handled it! LOL

I’ll post on Monday when I know the results; I’m going to need some help when it comes to treatment.

Joani

I had my LP on Friday July 2nd. My results were in on the 8th. The hospital where I had my LP has the ability to run the test in house, so that’s why I have my results back so soon, I suspect. When a lab has to process a specimen; getting it ready for transport, send it out to a lab capable of running the test, receive the results, and then, get the results back to the Doc, it can take a lot longer.

Here in the Portland metro area, when there is a "send out" lab test it usually goes to a large lab in Spokane, WA (seven hours from here) designed to do tests that are not so routine or require specialized lab equipment to perform the test; those usually take 2-3 weeks to get back to the lab; but some may take longer.

The radiologist should know about how long you will have to wait to get results. I called my neuro's office and got a time estimate from them, so knew it would be the 8th. I planned to pester them if they hadn't called by mid day on the 9th. I hate waiting! LOL

Waiting for the test is far more painful than the actual test.
I'll be thinking about you on Thursday:)

I just shared with my husband your post. He asked how lon it took for you to get your results. I have my LP thursday. I told him up to 6 weeks. I did not realize he was as anxious as I. I am so glad you are having a great time. i grew up just a hour or so south of Seattle and it is gourgeous there. Wave at the space needle for me.

Joanni, What a great road trip to join in - I am so envious.  That part of the world is beautiful.  Keep taking advantage of these opportunities - there's always tomorrow for the doctor appointments! LOL

be well,
Lulu

Loved your post and glad that you are thinking of yourself and going ahead with fun things instead of prioritising neuro appointments. It wd not have changed the results and I wish you the best of luck with them.

I am sure you will let us know how you get on.

with best wishes

Sounds great! Good Luck on the results. Try not to be too anxious. I think my LP results were my hardest hurdle. I was so afraid it would be negative and I would still be in limbo. I was so tired of limbo by then, having been told by several Neurologist I would have a diagnosis of MS sooner or later. I hope you have someone like your husband going with you for support.
