Weird feelings in head - Please read

Hi.  I am 38 and have been living with symtoms that come and go for the past 20 years.  The last time I was seen by a nuerologist was 11 years ago.  the MRI showed no plaques and evoked potentials was normal.  Of course he said everything mimicked MS but no definative diagnosis on anything.  I have lived with tingling, intermittent stabbing pain, twitching, ect for the past 11 years that comes and goes.  Sometimes 6 months in between.  However, 3 weeks ago I began to have a bad exacerbation of something.  I keep getting these weird electric shock feelings in my head that seem to spread to my hands and feet and I can actually feel them pulsing for a few seconds.  I have been very lightheaded, tingling, my lower legs feel  heavy and weak at times.  I am a RN and went to the ER last week because it was so bad.  The CT was normal and my labs were great.  the ER dc. states it mimicked MS (My docter the next day said the same thing) and now I will going to UF neurology for a consultation, MRI, ect.  The ER doc gave me a solumedrol dose pack and I just started taking it.  Has anyone that does have MS ever experience any head sensations like this.  I am about to go out of my mind.  I also get icepick type headaches that last off and on for a few days.  I am a L/D nurse so this is obviously not my specialty.  Thanks for your help!

Just wanted to say hello, and welcome to the group. I'm only 'probable Ms' somewhat like you, so unfortunately can't offer any advice. But wanted to say welcome.

Please keep us posted how your consult goes.

All the best,

Jazzy

Hi and welcome.  I'm sorry that this is happening to you.  I know how frustrating being in limbo is.  I really can't help you with your question because I've never been effected in the head area with my MS.  I'm sure there will be someone who can help you, just give them time.

I do hope and pray that the UF clinic can help you.  You are certainly on the right track in seeing a specialist.  I sure hope you get a good one.

I'll be praying,
Carol
