Is this a reaction to the Prednison? My eyes are blurry shaky hands,  7legs. My doesn't feel and hen I close my eyes i see right now a civil war slid show at fast speed..........I'm Serious..Help!

Well, I'm home a little earlier than normal because of the Holiday. I can actually type legibly.right now anyway. I'm very curious to see if it happens tonight again. That is the weirest thing I have ever experienced. No, no one lives with me. I am a widow. Unfortunately my ex-husband wouldn't let my son 17, come over tonight because it was a school night. Yes, he's a jerk. That's why he's an ex.......LOL. At least if it starts happening again, I'll know what it is and go to bed right away. So far these are the only side effects I have had. Of course when you are by yourself, not too many people to yeal at! I was going to check my blood sugar, but my hands were shaking to bad to get the sticker ready. It was high this am, but not extremely so. Only 119.  Probably was a lot higher last night. I know my heart rate was, couldn't hardly breath. My poor cat didn't know what to do. He kept petting me all night, waking me up. Worried about his next meal I think.......or on second thought, getting ready to make me his next meal!   Yes, I have a sick sense of humor.  Thanks for all the good thoughts..Maggie

This happened to me once on an anti-depressant . Pretty interesting and scary , I wouldn't want to do it again .  Keep the pets close , they're intuitive and will help to relax you .  Can someone stay with you tonight ???  Hope all goes well .

Hi Honey..so sorry to hear that you are feeling the effects of the prednisone so strongly!  I too have a lot of strange side effects that increase later in the day and then I wake up fine only to have the side effects increase again during the day I guess as the drug is building up in my body???

My side effects include changes in my personality, euphoria, depression, confusion, anger, and then I just don't care!  It can be pretty overwhelming AND scary the first time but I figured that if it is going to help the other symptoms in the long run it is worth it.

It is easy to say that now though...it's pretty hard to believe that when you are suffering through the side effects!!!

Try to stick with em' though honey cause they will help in the end and if you feel that things are getting out of control, come on here and we will help you through it.  If you have someone around at the same time as you had your episode yesterday (which you should), explain to them what happened yesterday and let them know what could happen today.  I would have someone close today just in case...at least you won't be alone and it IS hard to go through these side effects alone.

WHEN I'M ON THE STEROIDS,INFUSIONS OR ORAL THEY ONLY EFFECT ME TOWARDS EVENING,THEY CAUSE MY BLOOD SUGAR TO SKY ROCKET AND WE HAVE A WHOLE NEW BALL GAME GOING ON.THEY MAKE ME SHAKE,YA WOULD THINK THAT THEY WOULD EFFECT MY SUGAR LEVEL EARLIER IN THE DAY.

Good Morning. I feel relatively fine this am. Can't figure out why so bad at night, then fine in am. The tablets are 10mg a pice. So am on 60mg for today, then drop to 50, then 40, etc. I might enjoy the slide show if it would slow down enough so I could watch it. LOL! I've never had anything like it before.If this is what illegal drugs like LSD do, I sure don't want them! Thanks for your help last night, it was really scary, but I hate going to hospital, and would have had to call an ambulance.. Not my thing. My hands aren't shaking this am either. If you are mainly feeling stoned, it will go away with the taper.  What strength tablets?

Will this stop after I start to taper off? I have one more day of 6pills, then on down.I really thought 6 at a time was a lot. My sinus were bad, and I have a deviated septum causing it. He wasnt sthe pred to clear it up, anlong with anothe Antibiotic. I'm sick of being sick!

My dog & cat, and they already this I'm crazy. no tia, i DID GET RAPID HEART RATE LAT NIGHT.  I feel like I'm stoned! No good. Think I'll go to bed and sleep in off, it just seems to happen at night. Goody

If you are being literal about seeing bizarre images and being numb, it sounds like you are having visual hallucinations to the prednisone.  Yes, it can do weird thing to people.  They aren't dangerous, but what I don't know is if your blood presure is way up or if you are having a TIA or something.

Is someone there with you?

If you are very frightened, call your doc's answering service and talk to the doc on call or go to the ER.
