need to join a group discussing about spasticity

My mom has been taking Baclofen for quite a long time. recently she has been complaining about weakness . I really want to help her . I did read some posts about spasticity but they were dated 2009. Can anyone please guide me ..

Hi and your mom is fortunate you want to learn more to help her.  Spasticity and weakness are common with MS. Can you share some details as to how her symotoms act? Stretching - such as yoga- is good for spasticity, which comes from the muscles not working correctly.

I would hesitate to talk about weakness until we know a bit more about her condition.  I hope you will give us some more details.

If it is real bad they can put in a Baclofen pump into her spine. The baclofen has less side effects because you need less and it works more quickly. Have you seen the health pages "Muscle Tone and Spasticty" at the bottom right? There is also Xanflex another muscle relaxer I use it because Baclofen did nothing for me.
