Hello,

I just had one a little over a week ago. The worst part was waiting to have it done. It really was a piece of cake. just relax. drink plenty of caffiene and stay flat the rest of the day and the following day do NOTHING.

Let us know how it turns out.

Good Luck Missy

Hi marymoto!!  You're going to be fine while having your spinal tap.  The worst part for me was the fact that I was terrified.  For days before I was scared to death, in fact I almost cancelled it.  Try to relax and remind yourself that it's not going to hurt and you will be OK.

Then be sure to follow the instructions and lie flat.  Allow others to help you!

Let us know how you do--we will be waiting

Good luck!  I had one about 15 years ago. And as hard as it may seem it is important to relax during a LP, the more relaxed you are the easier it is for the Doctor to perform and the easier it is for them, the quicker it will be over and you can be on your way.
