Rally = AWESOME

Well, the Stewart/Colbert rally was so great.  9 of us went and it was absolutely fabulous!  The down side was I was unable to get together with Julie and Alex.  The crowd was HUGE and there was no cell reception.  We will have to plan a get together another time.

It was exhausting however, but worth it.  I took my moms walker, 1st I was embarrassed by it,but I quickly got over that. People actually asked to use my walker to sit for a spell.  It was standing room only, and about 4-5 hours of it. That walker never so such action ever. It is a walker with the seat.  If I didn't have it, there would have been no way I could have done it.  It was a mass of people.  Our subway was so full it broke.  Had to get out and walk at least 1 1/2 miles.  Truly, I felt and still feel as if I were run over by that subway.  Every inch of me is still in agony.

So that sums it up for now. I feel sore but happy that I went. My son was right, "why let this stupid disease get in your way to go?  You always do what you want, and you want to go!".  So glad I listened to him,

Michelle

So nice to hear from all of you...I particularly like the "glad you experienced" poem Mary.

If I wasn't so bone tired, I would try to reciprocate with my own. Spent last night at the children s hospital with my 8 year old. SEVERE lower right stomach pain and a fever that was going up and up.

Xray showed a :possible" bowel obstruction, which an appendix issue might be the cause.

We are still on a "watch and wait" here, and thank goodness his stomach feels better, so we will see.  He still has a pretty high temp.

Anyway, my body is not handling all of this.  The trip really did me in, and my hip and upper back are stiff as a board.  Painful.

Well, always something, and here we go again.  Same kid and all.

I should be up in D.C. next Tuesday if this infection does not side line me. I have an Arlington Funeral on the tenth at 8:30 AM. Not my family a friend's mother. The last of my mother and dad's generation of Navy friends. I may stay with my brother in Bethesda Tuesday night. There will be other trips. I have not figured the logistics.

I am so proud of you three - we need more examples of the possibilities instead of dwelling on what we can't do because of this MiSerable disease.

Thanks for leading the way,
Lulu

We'll definitely have to find anothe chance to cross paths, I'll make sure it happens next time.

It was worth it for sure. I'm sorry we couldn't get together, but I knew you were having a good time with family and that's all that matters. Did you get some good pictures?

It was an amazing experience.  I'm glad I went too.

Glad you had a good time. I was able to sit in the ADA section. I am nursing a kidney infection but it was worth it to me. I never saw Julie or my brother either.
