still answer

Hi everybody
I still need advice. Was at the neurologist yesterday for my results of my lp, was told they were clear . When i asked him about the mri showing quite a lot of deteroration the neuro said they were non specific , i then asked him about my other symtoms , the muscle loss the dizzy spells, losing my balance and the fatigue. He basically has told me that he has no idea what is wrong and he will ask my doctor to get me tested for my symptoms and he will see me again in 6 months time. I have already posted my probs on the forum a couple of weeks ago and i thought i would finally have an answer but it seems i am still in limbo after 4 years.Any advice would be helpfull. Thanks .
George

G-I'm not much help on the medical side of this forum and if it strays off the main MS symptoms or Heart disease, I know virtually nothing.

Can anyone else out there be of help?

Hi lulu
My own doctor is great, after my first mri and lp all my symptoms either stayed with me or got worse. The reason i got the first tests was because i took a bells palsy on each side of my face a week apart, they both cleared within a week ,thats when i noticed the weakness and pain on my right arm and leg.My doctor then sent me for blood test, liver and kidney tests basically every test that he could do, i even had an ultrasound. All my tests over time came back clear   It was then he refered me back to neuro but as i said they misplaced my file hence the 4 year wait . I then started looking at my symptoms and i thought that i may have the signs of ms.When i asked my doctor he told me that it was possible but they had to rule out everything else out first.Since all my tests were clear i started thinking i might have it.I understand they wont diagnose on one sign (ie spot on the brain) but when i went back to the neuro knowing all my other tests were clear and he told me there was quite a lot of deteroriation between the scans i thought i would get some sort of answer but i am still in limbo . I dont know if i should wait to i go through the tests again or maybe i should ask for a second opinion but what happens if i go through them again and the results are the same. What is worrying me is the muscle loss on my arm and especialy my leg

George,
It angers me to hear community members say their doctors acknowledge that something is wrong, but they don't know what it is and then send them out the door.  At least your neuro says that more tests are warranted - were the medical orders written  by the neuro or is that supposed to be done by your PCP?

Can you perhaps reconstruct for us the list of tests you have already had done and their corresponding results ? Then maybe someone can come up with other tests to suggest.

Don't give up - there has to be an answer.
Lulu

I'm sorry that you are no closer to getting any answers.  I would definitely follow up with the other doctor.  Do you know what other tests he might want done?  I know it is hard, but don't give up.
