Hi
I actually found Rochester to have very tough standards for getting treatment. Even though they have a reputation for high quality medical info I found them to be behind the times. Not keeping up on the latest research or newest drugs is not good practice.
My md is at Albany medical center. RMC would like to get many patients for studies and they are paid very well per patient . I recommend AMC!! I am sure Syracuse is good too, I just do not know anyone there. Who do you rec there?
At AMC They want to help you and not wait until you are wheel chair bound.
Best Nero is Allen Gerber he listens and is very intelligent. He will get you treatment quickly and not try to finds reasons not to. Don't wait for treatment or to have the perfect lesion for treatment !!!!
Don't wait

Hi Lulu - still lurking around - and yes I go to the U of Rochester (NY) ms center - and have found the docs there to be very good. This clinic is at Strong Memorial Hospital - and is affiliated with the University of Rochester - which has an excellent medical school.
I am currently working with Dr Matthew Bellizzi -(great doc - and very kind) still gray are patient -
I have not been to the MS upstate clinic in Syracuse even though I live in Syracuse. I don't mind the hour drive to Rochester and I have been told by my docs in Syracuse that U of Rochester MS center is the place to go.
Happy holidays to all!
It sounds like we have two good sources for a report on the NY clinic - I hope they will share the experiences here so everyone can learn more.
I private messaged you. If you didn't get it, please let me know. I have had experience with Rochester NY MS clinic. Very good.

Hi Kathy,
I live in Syracuse. I have been to the neuro clinic at Strong Memorial many times and they are very good. I recently went to a local MS workshop and met a top neurologist from SUNY upstate. He gave me his card and I plan on calling for an appointment after the new year. I will let you know how it goes if you want to PM me!
Merry Christmas,
Deb
Uh, sorry; did you mean Rochester, NY, or Rochester, MN?
Sorry, but I have no knowledge of the way SUNY Syracuse operates . We do know that Mayo has tougher diagnosis standards than most other MS clinics and that has worked against anumber of people here. Let us know how it goes, ok?
I'm sorry no one has answered your question yet. I don't live in that part of the US, so the only way I can help is by bumping this thread up.
I hope someone will be able to answer your question.
