SSDI with kids

I was approved for SSDI starting in June. I received a letter from SS stating that I had not completed the application for my 14 year old son. I asked the paralegal who did my appeal about it, and she wasn't sure other than thinking I might get more having a dependent child. Does anyone know anything about this? Of course I can't find the letter now!

Thanks-
Kristen

I already know what mine will be. I have a phone appt on Tuesday for my son. His is what I was wondering if my husband makes over a certain amount is my son still eligible? Or does he automatically eligible since I am disabled.

Your approval letter will tell you your monthly amount. They go by how long you worked and contributed to the system

Your child will get a monthly check equal to half of your  benefits till they turn 18 or graduate high school whichever comes first. SSDI will send you a statement yearly asking how much of your childrens income was used. Do not bank it. Its supposed to be used for them. I had a seperate bank accounts for each of my kids and they could take out the money when they wanted or needed something mine were 16 when I got ssdi .

I think you do get more if you have kids. A lady in my neighbor got more for her kids.
