Hi Janette!
This Dr. has listened to you - I'm so glad to hear it! I'm not remembering if the last one who released you was thorough or not though. If not, would this Dr. consider a ref. to a different neuro?
I'm sorry about the basal cell - but very glad you will know soon and get the treatment you need....
Have a nice weekend,
shell
Morning Shell,
YES - this is the same neuro I saw before. If I would not have been in shock from the basal cell thingy I would have asked to see someone different. He did a good exam & ordered all the right blood, MRI's of the brain & spine w & w/o contrast & the LP! The onlly thing he found in the exam was a sensory loos on the right side. I could not feel the cool tool or feel the pin *****. So - putting the cart before the horse here but if they do not find anything again guess I need to end the search for answers & believe that stress can cause these issues.
That is funny - anyone who knows me knows I do not cuss so to find something bleeped out of something I wrote is pretty funny!!!
Gotta laugh at the little things!!!
HAHA Janette, stop cussing on here HAHAHA just kidding, that is funny! And I'm glad you are seeing the neuro. again and will pray for good results about the spot.
Well, if your second instinct - after recovering from the basal cell cancer news is to wish you were being referred to a different neurologist then BY ALL MEANS contact your doc and ask to be referred to a different neurologist! This is a gut instinct thing. I suspect you feel that the first neuro will be a dead end. Don't get caught in that circle.
I was dismayed - and angry - that a doc would resort to blaming stress for the symptoms that you have. Here is one list I found in your journal:
Numb hand in 2004 and 2005, and vision field loss during pregnancy.
Bladder - leaks without notice
Memory - what is that :)
Muscle cramps – spasm
Fatigue
Numb tongue
Numbness in left hand
Numbness on Rt side
Eye pain
Eye shaking
See spots
Stiffness
Headache - 2 bad headaches in past 9 months
Twitching - all the time - all over
Pain - in legs for a week afer spasms
Band around left calf
tingly head
Oh.....and cussing
These are not the result of stress/anxiety/depression. Some of them isolated might be, but in general they are too localized and specific. Don't you remember having a memory?? Seriously, a numb "left" hand is not stress-related.
While these may or may be caused by MS, they are caused by something other than your psyche! Do not let a physician who is out of ideas tell you differently. Now, if you are pretty anxious, it doesn't hurt to take some treatment for it. If any axiety that is present is treated and the symptoms go away - then you have your answer and vice versa.
Please call your doc and request to see someone else if you feel that the first neuro didn't take you seriously or whatever. Be proactive, not passive.
"Kay?

Thanks Quix!
I will be proactive & not passive :) I will fight this basal cell thing first then get some help with the other things!
Thanks for the advice.
Janette
Sorry about the Basal Cell stuff. I had a squamous cell cancer removed a few years back. My dermatologist performed the Mohs surgery. I was fortunate that he got it all with the first stage. I was kind of weird though ~ sitting for a time with a open "hole" in my stomach while they checked the removed tissue.
I agree with the others ~ get the skin cancer taken care of then request referral to another neuro.
Take care,
Pat :-)
