Had a followup neuro appointment Monday afternoon. I had another MSFC with the neuropsychologist. the 9-hole peg test was ever so slightly slower than 3 months ago, and I knocked a peg out of the dish 2 times. Funny, because I was practically shaking last time, since I was afraid it would turn out to be D-Day. My 25-foot walk is a little faster, and I continue to do well on the paced serial addition. He said he'd like to do a baseline more in-depth cog test, but on the advice of the nurse practitioner, we're not going to do that unless I start having problems. Besides, since he is a psychologist, I have to pay for the whole thing unless I go through the whole pre-cert garbage, and he might not even be a provider in my new plan. They didn't even schedule me for another MSFC with my next appointment.
My appointment with the ARNP was mostly just going over how the CPAP is helping with the fatigue, and how my symptoms have been since my last visit. I was supposed to keep track of the eye troubles, and really, I never have trouble for more than a day, and sometimes just half a day. He said my neuro-opth report was clean, so if I have ever had ON, the damage is so slight as not to affect the VEP, so there's nothing more to look for there.
Paresthesias come and go. I had a couple of weeks this month where there was nothing, but it's back a bit now. Minor cramping of my right calf that comes and goes. I mentioned how the constipation was bothering me, so he spent a bunch of time going over each of my medicines, several of which can be blamed. However, I've been taking them all a long time, and I swear the timing goes along with my spinal stuff. I'll just bring it up with my PCP when I see her in March and keep experimenting with home remedies.
I'm to return in 6 months, unless something new comes up or something old gets much worse. Then we'll decide if it's time for new MRIs. He said if I need an appointment, to insist on being seen right away, as I'm a possible MS patient. That's slightly news-ey to me, since I thought I was the only one who still thought it was a possibility.
Sorry to hear about the fall down the steps! Braken glass....that is never fun. Sorry to hear about your tail-bone. That sometimes takes a while to feel better!
Best wishes!

I'm on the east coast this week, came to Prince Edward Island to surprise my father in law on his 75th birthday. The in laws were definitely suprised! MIL is baking a bday cake as I write this, Wafts of warm chocolate are in the air and making it hard for me to focus.
Sadly it is just as d*** cold here as it is in Northern Alberta, so no long walks along the beach this week. But still very happy to be here with family.
Nothing medical planned till my next neuro appt in Feb. Healthwise (knock on wood) all is quite well with me at the moment.
HI ALL,
Well I had a operation today to put in a Hickman port in (Well that is what me and the surgeon agreed on) Got home and looked at the information book they gave me about my port. It turns out he put in a different port.
I can see where he tried a couple of times to put another port in. He didn't stop and wake me up or stop and tell me after I came out of recovery, that he couldn't do it....He just put in a SMART PORT™ CT. That is what is really upsetting me.
Eye Doctor tomorrow 1:45
PC Doc. Thur. Spiro Test 12:00
JJFL....
Went to another opthomoligist appointment today -- He told me nothing I havent heard before... He called me last week and told me he was going to figure this out ... But, he said he still didnt know...He said that he is leaning towards MS too now, so he was going to send a nasty note to my Neuroligist, and tell him to look again!! LOL !
So we shall wait somemore for the MRI with dye on February 9th. :)
Mean while, I fell down the stairs, bruised my tailbone , hurt my back ( thought I was at the bottom) and legs gave out last night, while I was walking to the couch. broke my glass, spilt pop everywhere, and have a huge bruise on my leg!! YIPPPIIIEEEE !!!
i have a cardiologist appt. and I REALLLLLLLLLLLLY want to cancel it. :) I'm just sick of seeing doctor's. I know you understand. Other than that, I plan on enjoying my week while job hunting.
I think I'll plan something fun on Friday to look foward to... any ideas?

Today: Follow-up with neuro-ophthalmologist; my tests are all good so there is no evidence of anything causing my visual symptoms, so try a warm compress once a day.
Now I need to pick up prescriptions, capsules for Fluffy's medicine, and syringes for my allergy shots.
Tomorrow evening: See my dentist regarding the awful pain in my upper left jaw; is it dental, or neuralgia? If there is no dental cause for my pain, I'll call my ms neuro and report my symptoms and see if I should be seen.
Wednesday: Phyical therapy.
That's all for now, subject to change.
I am going to New Orleans on Thursday to see the little girl with cancer. I think that I am going to kidnap her mom and go for Begneits (sp?) . I think that my Dr. appt schedule is clear until March! YIPPIE!

Wow Q - are you really up in the middle of the night worrying about us?
I'm off to Columbus in a bit to see my neuro - first face-to-face since my DX in September. We have lots to discuss, including my MRI results from December. This will be a true test of his patience..........

PS this is doctor appt #7 for me this month of January - a new record for me! Nothing is on the schedule for February (yet) and hope to keep it that way. Copays alone are eating me out of house and home.
I guess I'm the first to report. LP scheduled for Wednesday, 28 Jan. Hope we get a lot of snow that day so maybe it will be postponed :)
