Shadowsister Update

We're still waiting for DJ to catch a break - her medical trials continue.  Her Morphine pump must be removed because of the infection and the abcess.  Through a series of missteps, the days have slipped from knowing this on Friday to being scheduled for Sunday night.  The surgeon just called DJ a while ago and has postponed the surgery until Monday.

The surgeon decided it best to talk first to the doctor who installed the pump.  He wants no surprises when he gets in there.  The doctor who did the first surgery does not have privleges at the hospital she is in and has not been reachable all weekend.  

Meanwhile, they continue to throw every antibiotic they can use for her in hope to keep the bacterial infection in her brain and spine under control.  

If all goes well her surgical team should be doing the surgery around noon on Monday.  Her spirits continue to be good despite this ordeal which is now going on two weeks.  

Wishing  I had better news - maybe in a few days.

Thanks for the update, I take it she is not moved yet either.   I have a card ready to be sent to her new apt.

I am glad I know it is today....she is always in my prayers but I can feel as if they are directed express today.  Her faith  gets her thru so much, she will get thru this too.

I just love her so much.....

I just wanted to say that I haven't commented because I don't know DJ personally but she has been in my prayers from the very beginning. I have faith that she will make it through this-she's proven herself the fighter hasn't she.

You and the rest of DJ's friends and family are in my prayers right along with her. Keep praying, keep fighting, and never, ever give up hope.
