Small new weird thing

Hello gang

I am really trying to keep up with reading the forum, it is going so fast. My head has been spinning for a couple days now.

I have a small new strange thing. For two days it felt like there is something across my cheek. Going from the mouth toward the back of the head. At first I thought it was a hair (even though I knew it felt like too much for a hair) and kept trying to brush it away over and over. LOL Sometimes it takes me a bit, but I realized there was nothing really there. It was like a line of slightly tingling pressure.

It then stopped and hasn't been back, thankfully! Any ideas what this is?

Yep, Jazzy, I think Mom's right.  It is likely a paresthesia of the Trigeminal nerve.  This is cranial nerve #5 and carries sensory information from the face to the brain.  When it starts spazzing, you get abnormal sensations.

Mom knows best!

Hey, Jazz~

I get the very same thing.  It's a good way to describe something that's indescribable.  I have long-ish hair, and was constantly trying to brush it off my left cheek (also my one arm).  But there was never any strand (or twelve, it felt like) there.

It's got to fall into the paresthesia category, I believe.  The tingling, pressure, without pain -- I think that's what it is -- paresthesia.  My former docs would always blame my migraines or migraine medication (Topamax) for the sensation.  I say, Poppycock.  And I don't even like that word.

I think they're wrong, though.  The new doc I see really started scribbling notes when I told him of my facial sensations, even when I tried to convince him it was due to migraines...

In the context of MS, as we say around here, it is a common symptom.  Mine is exactly as yours, coming from the corner of my mouth and on back.  Of course, I am not Dx'ed with anything, but....hope it helps.

Others will chime in.

Hang in there!  I know you're frustrated after your last 'normal' test, Jazzy.
