Not sure what is going on..

Was wondering...
Yesterday, as I was walking I lost my vision for a few seconds.
The strange thing is it didnt go black, it went red.

Hmmmm

I cant remember where the heck my lesion was, but I guess I could ask.
Just confused to the "red-out" instead of "black-out"

Just glad I came back b/c for a sec there I was wondering if I had really been that bad to be sent "down there" LOL Sorry.....
sometimes joking helps.......

I had no headache with mine either when it happen but about 20 mins later I started to get a mild headache.
DawnMarie61- I have not got a copy of my MRI brain, so cannot see it but have been told my MRI was normal.  I had an MRI brain done 5 & 1/2mths ago now without a contrast but since then my symptoms have increased and progressed.  I am assuming any lesions around t he optical nerve would show up on a MRI brain scan?

I have had that happen only to find out that I have a lesion about where to optical nerve in your brain is.  Do you know if you have one?  Just food for thought.

The thing is this, I do get migraines, but that day I had no headache or migraine. The "blindness" just came on and left. As of today, I have not experianced it again.

Have you had your eyes fully checked by an eye specialist?

Your incident happened to me recently but with my right eye, it went blurry, then went completely blind for approx 30 secs.  I was sitting and watching tv at the time.  It didnt go black for me either but a greyish red is the best I could describe it.

I just saw my doctor last night and told him about this and he said it can be part of ms- but since they dont think thats what i have it can also be part of this type of migraine Familial hemiplegic migraine they think I have.
