Your stories of the new trailer and the fishing made me smile, too. What excitement you conveyed! I am so happy for you and thanks for the Happy!

your so cute, what a wonderful expression of delight.i'm just smiling away for you
go gettum girl!!!!
I agree that there really is no feeling like standing in a river up to your chest in your hip waders and catching nice little grayling or standing on the shore of a lake and hearing the WHIIIZZZZZZZ of your line racing out of your fly reel cause the monster trout on the other end is going for a little run!!!
I am in Alberta Tracie where it just gets darn cold (it's -40C with the wind chill right now) and we truly appreciate the short couple of months we get to go fishing. Your cottage sounds beautiful...we would like to have a cottage too but it's too far to drive from the city anymore to find a lake that allows cottages with any decent fishing in em so we opt for the trailer! It is nice to see so many different places that we have seen and to be able to travel across the flat prairies and see the Rocky Mountains looming in the distance knowing you will be driving in them in a few hours is just something that can't be missed.
We have a couple of pontoon boats now and last year I was in mine just floating back and forth in front of this overhanging tree, casting my fly as close as I could...I KNEW there was a big trout in there and if I could just be patient enough...AND BANG!!! Something hit and I knew it was big but didn't know how big...I fought her into the net and looked down and saw the biggest eye looking back up at me I couldn't believe it!!!
I yelled over to my husband "Oh My God Honey...this one is REALLY BIG"...and all of a sudden from all over in the woods surrounding the lake I could hear voices..."how big is it? how many pounds? ya gonna keep it?" It was hilarious!
Well I ended up leaving the "big one" in my net between my legs until I could row to shore cause I wasn't taking any chances on losing this one...she weighed in at 6 pounds, 1 ounce which was a record for this lake and she was a beauty! I gently put her back in the lake and sent her on her way for another year and I will be looking for her again this year...what a rush!
Can't WAIT to get out again!

Hi Rena! I'm new. I love your story. Random acts of kindness are gifts to both the receiver AND the giver. I've been on both sides, and receiving one gives you hope for the world, that there are still people willing to be selfless. But giving one makes me so happy I almost feel guilty.
Congrats on the camper find! About 4 years ago, my husband saw a cottage for sale, also by an older gentleman. The price was so low, I was afraid the fellow might not be legally allowed to sign any sales contract we might come up with, so we told him that contracts required a witness, and asked that his son act as a witness to the sale. I was sure that would end the deal, but amazingly, the son was fine with the price. We got a fishing cottage on a nice river for an embarrassingly low price. Sometimes, things just happen, I think for a reason.
I love fishing also. Our river is great for smallmouth bass, and pan fish (yummy). Truthfully, I couldn't care less if I catch anything or not. I like standing in the water, with the sun frying me to a crisp. It returns my sanity, to some degree.
Where in Canada are you? Growing up, we fished Rice Lake in Ontario most summers. Great memories, great walleye!

Hey, did ya hear that they have decided that Monday, February 11th is now going to be May 1st in Canada!!! Sure there is still lots of snow but on the off chance that we can fool mother nature with all this global warming (it's going down to -36 Celcius tonight here) what the heck! I figure it's worth a try, don't you? ha ha ha ha

i'm so happy and excited for you. what a wonderful deal, a pay it forward for sure!
oh, i'm a tad bit envious.i so want a trailor!
we;ve had wonderful pop up camper fot about six yeard now,i love the little thing.my husband made a pantry, and installed a little hot water heater too. we have a outdoor sink for dishes and cleaning fish station that he made to.it had two kingsize beds, a dinette,4 little burner stove.the camp ground that we go to all the bath house are up above ground with about thirty steps, thats gotton so hard for me, i long for a potty of my own, and an oven would be nice cause i;m big on desserts. were starting to look around , andi'm hoping to get as lucky as when we got the popup kinda sthe same story as far as it had been used only once and then the man who bought ot lost his site and deemed it to hard to use, we paid 5,000 then, and it was better then a new one, lots. it has air and heat, and we have used it plenty, but its still pretty perfect, so i think we could ask a desient price, but i would like to sell it to some one who will love it at a bargin, then to some one who is blah about it or one looking for just anything.wonderful memories...favorite one,5am, seagull attact on bait left out for crabbing, daughterin law to be, awakens and peaks out, and yells "mom, the seagulls are stealing our bait!", i run out to save the day and stop and think"did she just call me mom?"
also the time my son was throwing some little fish back that his youngr brother had caughten to study for awhile, and he was throwing them out past the reeds and as he threw one a seagull flew by and caught it, the baby brother and daughter inlaw, were very upset as my son and i found it very funny!
we love camping,i love fishing,i get so excited, and if nothings biting thats fine too,i'll sit all day.i love how close the family is when were all in the camper.i love the other campers how friendly everyone is.
didn't get to go last summer iwas to sick most of it,this summer i'm going...but it would be so much better for me in a trailor.the heat the year before was hard for the very first time, going to check into cooling vests and things too. how about you, how do you manange in the heat? have any tips to share? we have a boat, but we also ned to sell it, as it has proven to be to much for us, we got it very cheap, and it needed lots of work, my guys made it great, but its to big and to much work,i just want a little john boat to do a little fishing on. thanks for sharing your good story, again i'm so pleased for you. you'll have to write us after your maiden voyage with it!!
Cathy
You sure did put a smile on my face. Fishing is one of my favorite things in the world to do. We used to walk up and down the creek all day fishing a while and taking a dip to cool off for a while. I miss it so much every day that it's just a little warm.
My hubby said we may be able to buy a boat this summer and then I can fish again. Pain or no pain I will be out there every second that I can.
Thank you for your story. It made me feel so warm inside. It also made me want to do something nice for someone. I'll let you know.
I'll be praying
Carol

Isn't there an old Italian saying... God pisses on you every day, but only drowns you once?
At any rate, I'm glad that you've found such a cool trailer!
Yay! What a wonderful story! It sure put a smile on my face. I am sure the fella just hasn't used the camper and so feels it would be better to sell it at a fair price than leave it sit there and be unused.
We actually got one years ago that way, it just wasn't used at all and was in super nice shape like you describe.
I would just get a little written contract with both parties signed with the info on it. If you have a written contract you can always go to small claims if ever need be.
Wonderful news, I am very happy for you!
