Have you contacted the MS Society?
Alex
It may take you a few attempts to find a group you are comfortable with, but I am sure there has to be one in Nashville.
Besides the MS society chapter in Nashville, I would encourage you to attend any of the free programs (usually sponsored by a big pharma company like Teva) that you can find in your area. Talk with the people at your table and ask what groups they might attend.
I have found three different groups through this method. It is universal that MS patients everywhere like to share... :-)
Contact your drug mfg or look on their website. At least I know Shared Solutions (copaxone) has a place on their site where you can put in your zip code and they will list any programs scheduled in your area. The other mfgs probably have the same feature.
And you don't have to be a user of their particular drug to attend their talks.
With all the fine medical schools in your area, there has to be some active patient groups affiliated with them. I would also check the MS clinics in your area and ask them about patient groups. I know OSU has monthly lunch meetings.
Good luck in searching them out - the support you can get from these groups is really valuable.
be well,
Lulu
