Technical Question about Vesicare

Hi there,
why would or does Vesicare help with burning in my privates?  How does this drug help that? It does work, but I have just gone off it due to it causing major constipation and I mean major and now my burning has come back so I guess I will have to go back on it and use both Vesicare and something for constipation to make me go.

I wish there was something else I could take, and oh yep some bladder urgency is back too and some spasms, I must admit this has made me a bit down as I thought perhaps after 5mths on the drug that the problem might have gone away.  

All the info on Vesicare talks about its use for bladder urgency but nothing about it to help with burning sensations but it does, I just don't understand how or why it helps.

I think I was just hoping that I could get a different med that would help with the burning and not make me constipated.  

I am still stumped as to how it helps but maybe it affects all the little nerve endings and perhaps if I am having spasms all the time and urgency that Tonyad (maybe you are right) this is creating the burning and causing pain, so when the drug stops the spasms it stops the burning.. I'm confused because it's not a pain killer and Gabapentin did nothing for this kinda pain but always helps with my other symptoms..

Just seeing if there is another solution for my problem that won't make me constipated!
I am back to feeling a bit miserable about all this, as the burn I get is constant,

Any advice would be greatly appreciated

sorry, guess my brain isn't working tonight... I got this one backwards.. glad you got the constipation under control.. I really don't know why it would help with the burning there?  

check the ingredience and see if any of them would be the one the helps??  I don't know if you can google that or not..

or call a Pharamasist and ask about burning symptoms and how this med helps?? see if they would know?

Hi there, if your having such side effects I would contact the Dr and let them know...you should be able to try another med for help with this.  Please let us know how things go and are you taking extra fiber etc for constipation...I know some meds are horrible for that.

    Oh how sorry I am that the bladder urgency is back as well as the spasms.
I do not know a lot about Vesicare but just thinking out loud.......I wonder if it helps
with the burning because it helps with the urgency and perhaps (some leakage) and urine is / can be quite acidic /irritating and that may be what is causing the burning in the private parts. While you are taking it the sx go away because you no longer have the urgency / spasms??? so no leakage = no burning??

    I guess you could kind of look at it like how some babies are more prone to a diaper 'Rash". Some people have more acidic urine than others and the skins in that area is more sensitive.

   Like I said..I have no idea Just thinking out loud....
