Yeah, what they all said, but especially Bio. It is worth it, and all these many years later I still thank God every single day that He freed me from those nasty things. You will, too.
Terry, stick with it! Stay with it. It's totally worth it to have the tobacco monkey off your back. No more having to go outside when everyone's inside, having a good time. No more smelling awful, waking up with that awful cough or feeling in your nose, getting sicker than everyone else does with the same upper respiratory virus. No more offending other people or threatening their health, too. No more money spent on that tobacco monkey, either. No more having it rule every minute of your waking existence. Stick with it. It's good for your health in terms of every single body system: neurological, respiratory, circulatory, urinary, dermatological, digestive...you're doing yourself a world of good with your will power right now.
I know it takes a lot of willpower to resist, especially when emotional stress make you want to reach for one. Don't do it. Pull back. Divert yourself quickly to something else to do with your hands or your mind or your feet, even if it's just dusting something.
I quit smoking just over eight years ago, after having smoked from age 15 to age 31. It was incredibly hard, and honestly, it took me about two years before I really stopped having urges. That long, but it was absolutely worth it in every way. I would even dream about smoking during that time, it had such a hold on me. But after that, I've been six years in which I've barely thought about it at all, couldn't care less, don't want to smoke at all. So...stay with it.
I've got to go read your journal about this neuro thing. What is up with these people? Sounds like Karen's got the right suggestions for that.

He dismissed you? Well, dismiss him back - flick him off your shoulder and carry on. Their rudeness is inexcusable, but happens far too often. Take a few days of R&R, then revisit the issue.
When you are ready, try to go see Dr. H. as your dad suggests. Don't let any doctor intimidate you or scare you away. It's their bad, not yours.
Good job on staying smoke and gluten free. Congratulations!
My best-ever doggie passed away a while back. I know how you are feeling. Too much in one month!
Take good care of yourself and get back to business when you are ready.
Hey Terry, I don't even have to read your journal to tell you that I'm on your side.
Keep up the good work on the smoke-free - it is hard, but well worth it.
If your neuro cut you free, then its time to get another one. Don't settle for no answers when someone, somewhere should have a clue.
Ok, now I'll go read what else has happened....
as always,
L
Thanks guys you are great, just when I needed the encouragement and empathy the most.
Hey Terry,
I'm sorry I've missed what's been going on. I'll go read your journal now.
Feel good about the smoke free - I'm still struggling w/cutting them out of my life.
So sorry about the loss of your dog ontop of everything else.
Wanted you to know I'm thinking of you,
Shell
